Frequently Asked Questions

I am new and don't know where to start?

If you are new to this and don't know where to start, no worries! Just give our lovely receptionist a call and they can guide you through the steps needed to get you signed up. You can reach us at (810)-535-5553 or message us through the "contact us" section.

How long do sessions last?

How long the session is depends on the service, for intake appointments we offer 45 minutes. A regular session would be an hour.

How much does a session cost?

We do not have a standard rate due to factors that influence the cost of a session, such as insurance. We recommend you reach out to your insurance company prior to your first appointment to get the most accurate information about session costs. For those who want to pay out-of-pocket, our standard rate is $100 for an intake session, and $100 for all following sessions. For couples the standard rate is $150.

What forms of payment are accepted?

For payment type we accept cash, checks, debit, and all major credit cards.

Please note that if your account accumulates an outstanding balance of $200 or more, your next scheduled session may be subject to cancellation until the balance is reduced to less than $200.

What type of insurance do you accept?

We accept many different forms of insurance, if you would like to see if we accept your form of insurance give us a call or visit our Insurance page in the drop down menu "About", https://burton-pro-counseling.com/insurance for more information.

I cannot make it to my appointment, what do I do?

If you can't make it in, give us a call and we will help you reschedule. Please be advised! All cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment time. A $50 fee may be charged for any missed appointments or cancellations made within the 24-hour period. This fee is not covered by insurance and is the responsibility of the client. Clients who accumulate three or more late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to discharge from our practice. Should a patient late cancel/no show more than two appointments, we require that a valid credit or debit card be kept on file to keep future appointments. If your account accumulates an outstanding balance of $200 or more, your next scheduled session may be subject to cancellation until the balance is reduced to less than $200.

Do you offer counseling for specific populations, such as couples, children, or LGBTQ+ individuals?

Yes, we offer counseling services for individuals, couples, families, children, adolescents, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Our therapists have experience working with diverse populations and tailor their approach to meet the unique needs of each client.
